With her personal highlights so this year, such as being hand-picked by Snoop Dogg to join him on stage during the YouTube Brandcast in May 2013 Niykee has maintained a steady songwriting routine despite the hectic recent years. Her songwriting routine is now a source of inspiration for hopeful producers. Niykee constantly listens to beats and finds many which spark thoughts. It's easy to tell when a beat's good after the first five seconds, and I'll be able to get a tune in my head, and I'll start writing immediately she says. My guitar sits on the back of my porch and I'll let my thoughts flow. The process usually takes about thirty minutes. Niykee has found that her memories of pain provide endless sources of inspiration. Even when she is not writing about events that were actually taking place the pain due to her childhood and the losing her younger sister makes its way into music. It influences my music and gives it a deeper meaning, which I find very important. I want to be able to hear my music 20 years from now and feel proud of the things I've written.
