sylvester stalloneSylvester Stallone was born on July 6, 1946 as Michael Sylvester Gardenzio Stallone in Hell's Kitchen, Manhattan. The oldest son of Francesco Stallone Sr. (a hairdresser) and Jackie Stallone (astrologer, and dancer). Frank Stallone is his younger brother and actor. Because of complications during childbirth, Sylvester's lower left side was crippled. The result was his now-famous "snarling", slurred speech and distinctive appearance. Stallone spent part of his early years in foster care as a result of the volatile relationship between parents and children. The couple divorced later. Stallone took classes in drama in Switzerland at the American College before moving on to Miami University. After completing his studies the actor quit school and moved to New York City in order to pursue acting as a profession.
